A New Year Begins

Hello my dear sweet friends -

I just wanted to wish each and every one of you a HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  I wish you joy, peace, happiness and lots of love.

This is my last post for 2012 and to be honest I am so excited for 2013.  I just keep hoping and praying things will get better.  I won't go into all the details at this moment in time however I have really been sick the past two weeks and I feel like I am behind on everything in my life.  I have a lot of decisions to make and lots to share in 2013.  I will go into more detail later this week but for now -

HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

There are so many possibilities and I am looking forward to every one of them.

Until tomorrow

Challenge 41 - Tammy's Scrappin Corner

Hello dear sweet friends

Happy Monday!!  Hope you had a fabulous weekend.  It's been insane at my place.  Lots of doctor appointments (finally) but still not feeling very well (several migraines) and exhausted.  Man oh man - something has to give - way to many life changes right now.  Is it just me or is time flying by at warp speed?

On a more positive note my sister is finally better and is heading back to work this morning.  It's been kind of nice having her home and being able to spend a little more time with her.

Well this weeks challenge with Tammy's Scrappin Corner is "Anything Goes".   Our sponsors this week are:

The design team has some wonderful inspiration this week and the links to their blogs on listed on the right side of my side bar.  So jump in ladies and show us what you got this week.  There are some great prizes for the winners and I am excited to see what you create.

I had so much fun creating this card using this beautiful butterfly image from Eureka Stamps.  In all honesty I made this card several weeks ago for another challenge here with Tammy's but ended up using the wrong image.  Yep - silly me once again.  Fortunately I was able to use this card for this challenge and all the work wasn't in vain.  I wanted a mono-chromatic look to this card.  I stamped the image three more times and cut out the butterfly and used pop up dots to give it more dimension.  I also used a row of white beads and a black ruffle on the bottom of the card as well.  Added some bling to the wings and a couple of pearl brads on each corner at the top.

Thanks again for visiting me - I truly appreciate it.

With hugs and smiles

Challenge #44 - Anything Goes - Tuesday Alchemy

Hello again my super sweet friends and Happy Happy Tuesday!!  Hope you are doing well - it sure is quiet in blog land.  I helped my sister get all the Christmas packages wrapped and it feels great to have that part behind us.

Today's Challenge with Tuesday Alchemy is Anything Goes and I decided to shake things up a little bit.  More about my project in a moment because I want to share we have a terrific sponsor this week and the winner will receive their choice of 4 digital images from:
Sassy Studio Designs

Our design team has some great projects to inspire you this week and you can find all their links at Tuesday Alchemy Challenge Blog and the design team links are on the left side of the blog.  They sure would love for you to visit and leave a sweet comment for them.

For this weeks challenge I decided to shake things up a little.  I have been wanting to create things with craft supplies I already have and came across numerous packages of Shabby Chic Clothes pins I found at Michael's quite a while ago.  I also had this pink round container (photo shows only the lid) but wasn't sure what to create.  The lid is about 3.5" in diameter and 1" high.

Ironically I started playing around with the clothes pins and  attaching them one by one around the lip of the lid.

I started laughing because I realized I could create a small container to hold some of my most used crafting tools and keep it on top of my craft table.  I was so excited and it was a super easy project and I love it.  No glue or adhesive was needed and the container is sturdy and steady.

It took 20 clothes pins to make the container and only had four left over.  I just love when a project just falls into place easily and quickly.

So my dear friends please join in our challenge this week.  I can't wait to see what you create.  How cool is this??

Have a blessed day!

Challenge 15 - Twist of Faith

Happy Tuesday my sweet friends -

It's time for another challenge at Twist of Faith.  This weeks challenge is all about creating a card inspired by your favorite Christmas Carol.  Our sponsor this week is Meljens Designs and she is giving the lucky winner their choice of 4 uncolored images.

I love her images and I absolutely fell in love with this little snowman.  As soon as I saw this snowman looking up at star in the sky I thought of how peaceful the scene was and it made me think of "Silent Night" which is one of my favorite Christmas Carols.

I'm not 100% happy with how my card turned out - there are some  details I would like to have done differently.  I want there to be a little less bling in the sky so the background appears a little more peaceful and not so busy.  I am going to make another one and add it to this post a little later today.  I really do love this image and want my final card to really show case how I picture it in my mind. Probably sounds a little crazy but I guess I have crazy thoughts from time to time (silly me).

The DT has some great cards this week and the link to the Twist of Faith Challenge blog is located on the right side of my blog side bar.  I hope you will check out the DT cards and join in the challenge as well.

Time to get busy with my updated card and a little later this morning my second project will post.

With hugs and smiles

Challenge 40 - Christmas (Shaped Cards)

Hello my sweet friends -

Hope you are doing well and had a wonderful weekend.  Are you ready for Christmas??

Wow - last week was a tough one.  My sister is finally getting around a little better and I am working on getting back into the swing of things.

This weeks challenge with Tammy's Scrappin Corner is all about Christmas and shaped cards.  Sounds pretty simple doesn't it??  We have two great sponsors:

The design team has put together some fantastic creations this week and you will find all their links on the right side of my side bar.  You will be amazed at what they have created this week and we hope you are inspired as well as eager and ready to join in this weeks challenge as well.

I used a design from QKR Stampede called "Elf riding on a Christmas Tree Bulb" and I think he is adorable.

I wish I had been able to take a better picture - sometimes it looks like the background is gold instead of a green.  I added rhinestones all around the scalloped circle.  I colored him with Copics and added lots of bling.  He looks like he is having a great time to me.

Sure hope you will join in our challenge this week and can't wait to see what you create.  Here is the link to Tammy's Scrappin Corner.

Well I must be a little wacky tonight - I just can't stand the thought of waiting until the end of December to choose the two winners of my blog candy.  I am extremely excited about this give away and don't want to wait any longer so I am going back to how I first set up this give away.  Are you ready for the winners???

Congratulations ladies!  If you will email me your addresses I will get the prize packages out early next week.  Thanks so much to each and everyone of you for joining in my blog candy and sharing some of the things you are so grateful for in each of your lives.  I absolutely loved reading every single comment.

***************************************

I just had a wild thought.  Since it's almost Christmas I think I will extend my blog candy give away until the end of December.  I will add a third prize which means another chance to win.  I sure hope you don't mind if I change the rules a little bit.  I won't be able to post a photo of the new candy until later this week as well as add the photos of the new items added to the first two prizes.  I appreciate your patience my sweet friends and I will get those photos posted as soon as I can this week.

WooHoo!! - I have reached my first 100 followers and have added a photo of the second prize.  I will be adding photos of one of the extra's for both prizes once I can get the photos taken.  Thanks for blessing my life ladies!!  (12-3-2012)

Please read the details of this give away carefully - I want everyone to have an equal chance at winning prizes.  I have attached a photo of the first prize.  Please keep in mind this is only the beginning and more items will be added throughout the month.  Once I reach 100 followers I will add a photo of the second set of prizes.  I will also add photos of the additional items added to each package.

************************************************************************
Hello my dear sweet friends - Happy happy Tuesday!!

It's so hard to believe we are so close to the end of 2012 and the beginning of 2013.  I remember my grandma and mom always saying how time goes by so much faster the older they get.  I finally understand what they were talking about.  I do however love this time of year and the upcoming holidays.  I truly believe in the Attitude of Gratitude  but not just for this time of year but for every single day.  Sometimes when I think about all the challenges I have had in life and am currently going through I wonder if there is anything to be thankful for - and every time I start making my gratitude list I realize I am blessed beyond measure.

GRATITUDE!!  That's what this blog candy is all about.  I want to keep this simple and yet interactive with each of you.  This give away starts right now and ends on Wednesday December 5th at midnight (Pacific time).  All you need to do is:
  1. Be a follower of my blog (unless you are already).
  2. List 3 things you are grateful for in your comments to me.  It doesn't have to be anything elaborate - just from your heart.  (You can list more than 3 if you want).
  3. Fill out the Simply-Linked form on the Top Upper Right Side of my Blog.  Add your name where it says "Link Title" and then add your email and blog URL.  This is how I will gather the information needed to choose the winners through the Random Generator.
As a bonus since I have almost reached my first 100 amazing followers  I want to start celebrating early.  Once I reach the 100 mark - I am going to add another prize.  Yep - that way there will be two prizes instead of one.  So dear friends that gives you two chances to win.

Blog Candy Prize Two
Blog Candy Prize One

It's just a simple way for me to say Thank You to each of you for becoming a follower, brightening my world and making a difference.  I am truly grateful for each of you.  So please join in and lets share what we are grateful and thankful for.

I am so incredibly grateful for:
  • The amazing Lord above who gave His life for me and has never given up on me.
  • My two loving, beautiful (inside and out), funny, smart and amazing daughters, Lynette and Tiffany.
  • My two handsome, funny, adorable, tender and smart grandsons, Logan and Jared.
  • The never ending love, encouragement and support from my family, friends and cyber-friends who have blessed my life in so many ways.  And yes, that includes Hercules.
  • A warm and safe place to live, food, clothing,
  • Every soldier who fights for our freedom every single day and the sacrifices it takes to do so.  You are the true HEROES!!
  • Waking up each day to new beginnings and possibilities.
  • The sound of my daughters and/or grandson's voices and laughter on the phone.
  • Watching Hercules frantically fluffing his pillow to make it just right for his nap.
  • Tank (my sisters pit bull) who wants nothing more than to sleep at (actually on)  my feet and his excitement when I say "Go get your rope" so I can toss it and he can chase it and bring it back over and over again.  It melts my heart to see him so happy and how he jumps so high and runs so fast across the back yard chasing down that rope.
There has been so much loss and yet I am beyond grateful.  Ironically I wouldn't have asked for any of it and yet I wouldn't change any of it.  And that's because I am learning more and more every day that God is ultimately in control and I can trust Him.

I am really looking forward to reading all of your comments about what you are thankful and grateful for in your life.

With hugs and smiles

Laine

P.S.  Just remember the photos of the blog candy doesn't show everything that will be included in the final packages. At least once a week I will add something new to each package as a bonus.

Challenge 43 - Tuesday Alchemy - Anything but a Card

Hello again my special friends - It's only been 5 hours since my last post.  Times passes quickly because as you are reading this I am at the hospital with my sister.  Both of us will be glad when her surgery is done and she can finally start feeling better.  Bless her heart - she just had knee surgery 5 months ago.  I am hoping this will be her last surgery for a very long time.

This week's challenge at Tuesday Alchemy is "Anything Goes but a Card".  Sounds pretty easy doesn't it??  Here is the link to Tuesday Alchemy Challenge Blog.  All you need to do is join in the challenge and show us what you got this week.  We have two sponsors this week and they are:

Di's Digi Downloads - $10.00 Gift Card

Hugs4theHeart Designs on Etsy - $10.00 Gift Card

Di's Digi's are really really cute and it looks like I might need to do a little shopping this week.  And of course - the last sponsor is silly ole' me - but this is my baby and I love sharing from my heart.

This week I am sharing an altered chipboard clipboard (boy try and say that fast 3 times).  I couldn't do it - and yes, I tried (several times).  Anyway one of my dearest friends is going through a challenging time right now and I wanted to make her something as a "Just Because" surprise.  I have included photos of just a couple of the pages in this album.  The clipboard itself is 6" x 6" and I covered it in pink cardstock and then added several patterned pink and green cardstocks to each page of the album.  These album pages are about 4.5" x 6" and I attached it to the left side with 1" rings and miscellaneous ribbons.  I wanted her to be able to hang up the clipboard if she wanted so I added ribbon on the right side to keep the album closed.  You can see where I added some simple but heartfelt sentiments along with stamped images and bling.  This was a quick and easy album and that's just the way I like it sometimes.

So my dear friends - please join us this week.  The design team has some amazing projects this week and you can find them on the TA challenge blog along with the DT's blogs.  I am so looking forward to seeing what you create this week.

And as a final reminder - there are two more days until my blog candy give away closes.

With hugs and smiles

Laine

PS - I sure use a lot of pinks and green's in my projects don't I????

Challenge 14 - Twist of Faith - "Light"

Happy Tuesday my dear sweet friends - this is just the beginning of my posting today.  I will be back in a while with my second post for the day.  I think I will call Tuesday's my "Two 4 Tuesdays Challenge Day".

I sure hope you are doing well.  And just in case you have missed it - there are two more days left in my blog candy give away.  The details are listed at the top post on my blog.

Today's challenge with Twist of Faith is called - "Light" - "Let there be Light".  Your card should depict LIGHT - a light source such as the sun, moon, a lamp, a candle, etc.  And make sure you include a scripture, quote or uplifting sentiment that follows this weeks theme.

Our wonderful sponsor this week is Pholkart Blessings who will be giving this weeks random chosen winner their choice of two digital images.  You can read more about Patty and her wonderful shop on the Twist of Faith Challenge Blog.

I love this sweet image and had so much making this card.  As you can tell (I hope) I tried to add some light (sparkle and shine) by adding a few different textures.  For the manger I added some gold, silver and white tinsel to create the look of straw.  Added stickles to the star and around the outside edges of the reddish background paper as well as all the swirls around the baby.  I color the images with Copics.  There is a scripture sentiment on the inside of the card however silly me forgot to take a photo of that.  I was out running errands with my sister most of today as we had lots to do for her to be ready for surgery at 6:30 AM today.  I am hoping I can post a photo of the inside of the card later today - it just depends on how her surgery goes.

The Twist of Faith Design Team has some great cards to share with you this week.  I hope you will check out their blogs and all the links are on the Twist of Faith Challenge Blog.  Please join in this week ladies - we would all love to see what you create for this challenge.

Until later today - have a blessed day!!

Hugs and smiles

Ch 39 - Tammy's Scrappin Corner - Christmas Anything Goes

Happy happy Monday my dear sweet friends -

Wow - what a weekend - it was so busy running all around town getting lots of tasks out of the way.  What about you?  How was your weekend??

This week at Tammy's Scrappin Corner its time for challenge #39 - "Anything Christmas".  Boy oh boy did the design team make some amazing projects this week.  So much inspiration and extremely happy to be a part of this group of such talented women.  Please check out their blogs and leave a little comment if you have the time.  You can find all their links listed on my right side bar.  Our guest designer this week is Adrienne Crist - and she has made a gorgeous card.  The link to her blog is:

We have two wonderful sponsors this week and they are:

I used an image from A Day for Daisies called - Warm in Winter and decided to create some Christmas Tags.  As you will be able to see - I have only made on so far and probably won't be able to finish the rest of them until the weekend.

A Day for Daisies - Warm in Winter Digi Image

It was a lot of fun using this sweet image and of course I wanted to add some dimensional snow to the branch.  I colored a part of the image with copics, inked the edges for a vintage look and added a button and a bow to finish the top of the tag.  I used cardstock from Fancy Pants Designs called "St. Nick".

Thanks for spending some time with me today and I am really looking forward to what you create this week.

With hugs and smiles always

Laine

BTW - Only two more days left for my blog candy give away - you can't win if you don't enter and I am really excited to see who the two winners will be.

I am also entering this project into the following challenges:

Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #42 - Anything Goes

Hello again my lovely friends - this is part two of  my Tuesday Post.

It's also time for this weeks challenge at Tuesday Alchemy.  Once again our design team has made some great projects.  I hope you will check out their blogs as well as join in.  Listed below are the links to our sponsors for this week and each one is giving a $10.00 gift card voucher for one winner.  You can't be one of the winners if you don't join in the challenge so we hope you will jump in and show us what you got!!!  Think of how much fun it would be to do a little shopping.

I made a small altered album this week.  Actually it was a special order for a young lady who wanted to give her hubby a little something something extra for their wedding anniversary.  She wanted it to be simple and with no fluff.  It was hard letting this one go - I really like it and wanted to keep it for myself.  Isn't that horrible?  :-)

This is a chipboard album and I cut out each piece and rounded the corners after I attached the cardstock.  All she has to do is fill in the blanks and add her own sweet touch.  I can't wait to hear his reaction and I only five more days to wait.  WooHoo!!

That's it for this project.  I appreciate your stopping by for a visit and treasure your comments as well.  Until next time....

Hugs and smiles

Laine

Twist of Faith Challenge #13 - Blue Skies

Happy happy Tuesday my lovely friends -

It's a new challenge at Twist of Faith and our theme this week is "Blue Skies".  Our sponsor is Stamp Art Design by Kathryne at Whimsy Stamps.  Our random prize winner will receive their choice of 4 images from her collection.

Our design team has some great cards this week and we are just waiting for you to join us.  Here is the link to the challenge blog and we can't wait to see what you create to share with us.  All you need to do is create a card within our guidelines which is easy as 1.2.3.

It was a little challenging deciding which cute little bear to use from her new digital stamp set called New Little Bear Winter Fun.

I really love this background paper and just had to use it again with this card.  It makes a fun background and I can add glimmer and bling.  I colored the sweet little bear with Copics and created a snow border around the quote and on the hat.  And of course - the snow the little bear is standing on.  We are really looking forward to seeing what you create this week.

With hugs and smiles always

Let It Snow

Happy Happy Monday my dear sweet friends - I hope you had a great weekend.  For those of you in the U.S. hope you had a terrific Thanksgiving.

It's time for this week's challenge with Tammy's Scrappin Corner.  This weeks theme is - "Let it Snow."  The design team has made some wonderful cards and I hope you will visit each of their blogs and leave a little love too!!  You can find their links on my side bar.

Here is the link to Tammy's Scrappin Corner Challenge Blog

We have two great sponsors this week and they are:

BugABoo Stamps

Prize is 7 Free Images

QKR Stampede

Prize is 5 Free Images

I had "snow" much fun making this card.  It sure took a while to put it all together but I fell in love with this image from BugABoo the minute I saw it.  His name is "Eggbert" and Eggbert stole my heart.  My goal for this card was to create as many different textures as possible.  I used some pom poms to create the snowballs.  I created the snow and then added a row of snowflake lace along the bottom of the card to add a different look.  I have been wanting to use this lace for quite some time.  I colored Eggbert with my Copics, added some snowflake buttons and of course some bling.

I sure hope you will join in this week's challenge and I can't wait to see what you create.

With hugs and smiles

Altered Coasters

Hello dear sweet friends - Happy happy Tuesday!!

This week's challenge #41 at Tuesday Alchemy is "Anything but a Card".  Our design team has some great inspiration and you can peek at all their projects on their personal blogs.  Our amazing sponsors this week are:

and

I found some old ceramic coasters at a thrift store a long time ago.  Thought this would be a great project for this weeks challenge and the perfect time to turn them into something new.

Altered Coasters

All I did was cover the coasters in various cardstocks, stamped swirly images around the edges and fun sayings in the middle of each.  They were all sealed for extra protection.

Old Coasters

It's a quick and easy project plus a dear friend of mine loves them and wants them for her office at work.  Makes me happy they have found a new happy home.  So please jump in and join us this week and can't wait to see what you create.

Have a blessed week!

CH 36 - Tammy's Scrappin Corner Anything Goes - Fall

Happy Monday my dear friends - I hope your weekend was wonderful and relaxing.

It's time for this week's challenge at Tammy's Scrappin Corner.  This weeks theme is "Anything Goes - Fall".  We have two wonderful sponsor's:

Sassy Studios - a fabulous digi stamp company

Eureka Stamps - where you will find amazing rubber and digi stamps.

I hope you will check out their websites and look at all the wonderful images they have.  The design team has created some amazing creations this week and it would be wonderful if you visited their individual blogs as well as joining in this weeks challenge.  You never know - you could be one of this weeks winners.

Altered Wall Hook

For this week's challenge I used an image from Eureka Stamps called "Heart Angel".  I absolutely love angels and hearts so this was the perfect digi for me to use.  I colored her with copic markers and was hoping I would be able to give her a type of glow through the colors I used.  I also added a lot of bling all around her wings and the bottom of her robe.  And instead of making a card this week I decided to create an altered wall hook.  I love to reuse things and turning this wall hook into something different was so much fun.

Thanks for spending some time with me today and as always I appreciate your comments.

With hugs and smiles

Laine

(For this card I wanted to use my scraps of paper and other embellishments that are over six months old.  And I achieved that by using the brown lace and butterflies.  In fact, they are almost a year old and I have just been saving them for something special.
